“As a former Florida certified teacher, I’m proud of each student who does his or her utmost to succeed.”
“It is truly an honor for me to take this opportunity to recognize so many talented young men and women. These individuals have worked hard towards the betterment of our community. They have volunteered their time for community service projects, peer assistance projects, and have been role models for their peers. Their work ethic must not only be recognized, but also commended. This is why I have asked for your presence here today to acknowledge and congratulate all of these young individuals for their extraordinary achievements!”
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen – Member of Congress
The Congressional Medal of Merit is an award that publicly recognizes students in their senior year of study who have demonstrated exemplary citizenship and academic excellence in their high school careers. The recipients were selected by their own schools based on their: academic excellence, peer respect, community service, school citizenship, and involvement in extracurricular activities. It is with great honor that Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen honors these extraordinary individuals with this award.
