Nuestras elecciones deben ser justas, transparentes e imparciales.
El condado Miami Dade es un modelo nacional de integridad y acceso a las elecciones. Como nuestra primera supervisora electoral electa, seré una voz independiente en su nombre.
Estoy orgulloso y emocionado de anunciar que hoy me presenté oficialmente como candidato para Supervisor de Elecciones del Condado de Miami-Dade.
No fue una decisión fácil para mí ya que dejo mi puesto como miembro de la Legislatura Estatal y el importante trabajo que estamos haciendo en Tallahassee.
Sin embargo, también me doy cuenta de lo importante que es mantener el profesionalismo, la confianza y la integridad de nuestro Departamento de Elecciones ahora que será una oficina independiente del resto del gobierno del Condado.
Vale la pena mencionar que contamos con el Departamento de Elecciones más grande del Estado de Florida al servicio de una comunidad muy vibrante y diversa.
Aunque me postulo como una republicana orgullosa, este cargo debería estar por encima de la política partidista.
Me postulo porque quiero garantizar que todos en nuestra comunidad, ya sean republicanos, demócratas o independientes, sigan teniendo fe en que nuestras elecciones se llevan a cabo de manera justa y transparente y que siguen todos los requisitos de la ley de Florida.
He estado en el servicio público durante muchos años y he tratado personalmente con este Departamento de Elecciones y con la actual Supervisora de Elecciones, Christina White, en muchas ocasiones a lo largo de los años.
Hemos tenido la suerte de contar con su liderazgo en esa oficina y, personalmente, espero aprender más sobre las operaciones y los desafíos de la oficina de ella.
Durante el transcurso de la campaña, discutiré con más detalle cuáles serán mis prioridades después de escuchar a todos los ciudadanos de nuestro condado. Desde Aventura hasta Homestead queremos saber de usted y de sus inquietudes.
Una cosa que puedo decir con certeza es que quiero que nuestros residentes sepan que nuestro Departamento de Elecciones seguirá siendo el Departamento de Elecciones mejor administrado en el Estado de Florida.

I am your State Representative Alina Garcia. I have dedicated over 30 years of my career to public service and I want to be your first elected Supervisor of Elections
Our elections must be fair, transparent and impartial.
Miami Dade County is a national model to election integrity and access. As our first elected elections supervisor I will be an independent voice on your behalf.
I am proud and excited to announce that I have officially filed today as a candidate for Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections.
It was not an easy decision for me since I am leaving my position as a member of the State Legislature and the important work that we are doing in Tallahassee.
However, I also realize how important it is to maintain the professionalism, trust and integrity of our Elections Department now that it is going to be an independent office from the rest of the County government.
It is worth mentioning that we have the largest Elections Department in the State of Florida serving a very vibrant and diverse community.
Although I am running as a proud Republican, this office should be above partisan politics.
I am running because I want to ensure that everyone in our community-whether they are Republican, Democrat or Independent—continues to have faith that our elections are conducted fairly, transparently and follow all requirements of Florida law.
I have been in public service for many years, and I have personally dealt with this Elections Department and the current Supervisor of Elections Christina White on many occasions over the years.
We have been fortunate to have her leadership in that office and I personally look forward to learning more about the operations and challenges of the office from her.
During the course of the campaign, I will discuss in more detail what will be my priorities after hearing from all of our county’s citizens. From Aventura to Homestead we want to hear from you and what concerns you might have.
One thing I can say for certain is that -I want our residents to know that our Elections Department will continue to be the best run Elections Department in the State of Florida.
