On Wednesday, July 12 the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly membership luncheon at the Miami Lakes Hotel. Over 50 local business owners, entrepreneurs, and other professionals gathered eager to hear from guest speaker, State Representative, Tom Fabricio. Beginning in the lobby, guests networked and mingled until lunch began. At 12 pm, the doors to the ballroom were opened, inviting all guests inside.
Upon entering, guests found their seats and got situated as they waited for the luncheon to commence. President Fred Senra welcomed everyone and initiated the lunch with a short prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, setting the tone for an inspiring afternoon. As guests enjoyed their delicious full-course meal provided by the Miami Lakes Hotel, they had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the room and foster some valuable connections with the community. This month’s luncheon member spotlight was Conrad Garcia, new member of the chamber’s Young Professionals Committee. President Senra introduced Conrad and he shared a little bit about his business, Equitable Advisors, and offered some tips to his audience.
As the member spotlight wrapped up, the guest speaker was introduced. Tom Fabricio has made public service the hallmark of his career. He earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University and went on to become involved in various community activities like serving on the City of Miramar’s Planning and Zoning Board and on the Broward County Parks and recreation Advisory Board. In 2010, he received the Hands on Volunteer Leader of the Year Award for his volunteer work with several organizations throughout the Miami area, mainly with inner city and at-risk youth groups. He is an active member of the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Republican Club. Now, Tom practices law in the field of insurance defense, where he works to protect small businesses and consumers from lawsuits. Tom’s presentation focused on sharing his story and discussing community issues. He shared insightful anecdotes and personal experiences that were inspiring to the guests present.
The Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their next membership luncheon on August 9 with guest speakers from the Miami Lakes Town Council Marilyn Ruano, Josh Dieguez and Luis Collazo.
