The Town of Miami Lakes celebrated a new chapter of leadership on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, as newly elected officials took their oaths of office during a swearing-in ceremony held at Town Hall. The event marked a momentous occasion for the community, welcoming new leadership and reaffirming the town’s commitment to progress and service.
Mayor Josh Dieguez was officially sworn in to lead the town, joined by Councilmembers Juan Carlos Fernandez and Steven Herzberg, who also took their oaths of office. Mayor Dieguez, who brings years of dedication and experience to his new role, addressed the audience with gratitude and optimism, emphasizing collaboration and a vision for a thriving future for Miami Lakes.
The new council convened with Councilmembers Angelo Cuadra Garcia and Ray Garcia, highlighting a unified and forward-thinking team. The first order of business for the council was the selection of the new Vice Mayor. In a unanimous decision, Bryan Morera was elected by his colleagues to serve as Vice Mayor. Morera expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him and pledged to work diligently for the residents of Miami Lakes.
“I am honored to serve as Vice Mayor alongside Mayor Dieguez and this esteemed council. Together, we will ensure that Miami Lakes continues to flourish and remain a place we are all proud to call home,” Morera said.
The ceremony was attended by residents, local leaders, and community supporters, all eager to witness the town’s leadership transition. As Miami Lakes moves forward under its new leadership, the town remains focused on growth, innovation, and community engagement.
