On September 11, 2024, the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, gathering local business leaders, community members, and distinguished guests for an event marked by both education and reflection. The date carried a special significance, and the Chamber organized a memorable tribute to honor the victims of the September 11th attacks.

The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Frantz R. Lerebours, MD, a highly respected orthopedic surgeon and team physician for the Miami HEAT. Dr. Lerebours delivered an engaging and informative presentation on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of rotator cuff injuries, a condition that affects athletes and everyday individuals alike. He detailed the anatomy of the shoulder, common causes of rotator cuff injuries, and how early detection can prevent long-term damage. Using real-life examples from his experiences with the Miami HEAT, as well as clinical photos, Dr. Lerebours highlighted modern surgical techniques and rehabilitation methods, emphasizing that timely intervention is crucial for full recovery.

Attendees appreciated the practical takeaways from the presentation, which ranged from tips on how to avoid shoulder injuries through proper posture and exercise, to recognizing early signs of discomfort that may indicate a more serious condition. His approachable style and in-depth knowledge left the audience not only more informed but also more aware of their own physical health.

In addition to the informative keynote, the luncheon included a special commemorative moment in honor of the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Marine and retired Colonel William Perez led a moving tribute to the victims and heroes of that day, sharing personal reflections and reminding attendees of the resilience and unity the nation has shown in the years since. The moment of silence and reflection was a somber yet powerful reminder of the enduring legacy of September 11, 2001.

As always, the luncheon provided an opportunity for networking and community engagement, offering attendees a chance to connect with fellow Chamber members and discuss the latest developments in the Miami Lakes business community.

The Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce continues to provide valuable opportunities for professional development and education, and this September luncheon was no exception. Join the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce for their next luncheon on October 9th featuring a guest panel with Sen. René Garcia, Alex Rizo, Alex Penelas, and Supervisor of Elections Christina White on the importance of voting.
